I asked the ladies of the King’s Daughters’ Writing Camp to come up with their top FAQs for a new book. Many thanks to those who helped brainstorm! Below are the answers to a few frequently asked questions for By This Shall They Know.
What is the genre?
This is the author’s nightmare question, because the Fellowship of Light series doesn’t fit nicely into a single package. It is Christian contemporary fiction, with a homeschooling background, an Anabaptist worldview, and a touch of epic flavour that continues to increase as the series goes on.
If you like character-rich fiction with a spiritually-driven plot that will inspire you to a full and triumphant Christian life, then you are going to love this unique genre!
What is the preferable reading age?
By This Shall They Know is geared primarily towards a teen audience, although it has been read and enjoyed by those both younger and older.
Are there any content issues I should be aware of?
This is a super-clean book. No romance issues. No language issues. No violence issues.
Both healthy and strained family relationships are portrayed as part of characters’ growth and development. The overall tone is very upbuilding.
