Black Friday Indie Book Sale
Guess what, everybody? It is officially the week of American Thanksgiving! Known more familiarly to the retail industry as Black Friday Week.
And today I am excited to be highlighting a Black Friday event that I am privileged to be participating in for the second year in a row: Perry Elizabeth Kirkpatrick’s Black Friday Indie Book Sale.
This is a four-day sale (Friday, November 25 to Monday, November 28) featuring clean fiction and nonfiction from Indie authors, available during the sale for $0.99 or free.
Now, that statement just might raise a few questions in your mind:
What Are Indie Books?
The first time I heard the term “Indie Books” (I think it was in the context of “Indie Romances”) I naïvely assumed they had something to do with India.
Indian authors, maybe? An Indian setting?
Only later did I discover that Indie is short for Independent—authors who have chosen to publish their own works, rather than go through a traditional publisher. Which means you won’t find any HarperCollins titles in a Black Friday Indie Book Sale. But you will find a host of talented, engaging authors who have taken a bit of a step off the beaten track, and are excited to welcome you along on their journey.
What Are “Clean” Books??
We all like clean books, right?
But agreeing that you like clean fiction can be a bit like agreeing you like spicy food. Your definition of spicy might blow my head off. Or it might be so mild I barely even notice it’s there.
To help us out of the haze associated with the “clean” book definition, all authors participating in Perry Kirkpatrick’s Black Friday Indie Book Sale have been required to rate their books based on Book Cave’s standardized rating system. Only books with a rating between Squeaky and Mild+ are included in the sale. And each title’s rating is displayed on its sale page, so you have an easy index for whether you’re likely to be comfortable with each individual title’s content.

Yes, that is right!!!!
Dangerous. Super dangerous. I discovered that, years ago, travelling in the UK. One pound Stirling was worth almost two Canadian dollars at the time. But do you think I could resist candy at £0.50? Or £0.75? Or £0.99? There’s something about a price that starts with a zero…
And it just might be the most exciting part of the whole Black Friday Indie Book Sale!
Every single title is $0.99 or FREE.
For the vast majority of participating titles, this means from Black Friday to Cyber Monday you’ll be looking at the very lowest price those titles will ever appear at, all year.
