FREE Today: Library Blitz Eight—Pink Roses
Ever had one of those tasks where the first half was super easy, super fast, super fun—and then the second half (even though it was supposed to be the simpler part!) just spun itself out over weeks and weeks of slow, painful grinding?
Without being melodramatic, I have to admit that this story was a breeze to write in the summer of 2023—but that pulling together the edits and drafting the historical spotlight, while juggling college assignments and general summer craziness in 2025, turned out to be a more complicated undertaking than I was at all prepared for!
Nevertheless, I am happy to announce that the eighth chapter of Frank and Nora’s saga—Pink Roses—is at last ready for its official launch. I’m so grateful to have all of you along for the ride. And I hope you’re ready for a long-awaited day in Frank and Nora’s life.
(No—honestly. This blog never gives away spoilers. Never!)
Pink Roses—Library Blitz Eight
“How much would it take to convince you to just elope?”
Frank’s question is mostly a joke. His conundrum, on the other hand, is not. Why does a well-earned promotion have to come at exactly the right time to turn his cherished plans completely upside down? How is he supposed to convince Nora that the wedding of her dreams is being postponed indefinitely—not because of air raids, not because of danger, but simply because the Civil Defense isn’t offering him a furlough this summer?
From Nora’s perspective, the answer shouldn’t be this complicated. The “wedding of her dreams” has only three conditions—and under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t be hard to meet. But as wartime logistics and the tightest of timelines combine to frustrate her hopes, Nora finds herself grappling with a question closer to her heart.
Has a wartime wedding robbed both Nora and Frank of their chance to glorify the spiritual picture of Christ? Or is there a deeper message hidden beneath the chaos of the bombed-out metropolis?
If you love WWII fiction, heartwarming characters, inspirational lessons, and a tiny thread of squeaky-clean romance, then Library Blitz is the newest series you don’t want to miss!
Library Blitz Research Files
As always, here’s your behind-the-scenes peek at the treasure trove of WWII details I uncovered in the research process for today’s edition of Library Blitz.

Rationing in the United Kingdom: Restaurants—Admittedly, this bit of research went into the Historical Spotlight without particularly impacting Frank and Nora’s story, but for those of you interested in wartime wedding reception options, here are some general details about the restrictions and exemptions associated with WWII restaurant dining.
