(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home4/sawpub/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114Well, friends, I can hardly believe the big day is here! I am absolutely delighted to announce the launch of Tomorrow Isn’t Promised, a book that surprised me in many different ways and felt like a huge gift from God.

To celebrate the start of our launch week (and a SALE—scroll down for details), I’d like to mention a few fun ways this project surprised me throughout the writing and publishing process.

The first scene I ever wrote about Nathan was a cameo appearance in a short Valentine’s Day story I was writing about his sister, Allyson. As she wrestled with a difficult relationship decision, Nathan stepped into the room to give some brotherly advice… and the minute I heard his backstory, I realized there was more potential there than in the original short story. (Which, incidentally has yet to be finished!)

Bonus fun fact—Cherish’s name was Gina in that original cameo! (I think Cherish suits her better.)

Even when Nathan convinced me he had a story worth writing, I never intended for it to me more than a sweet (and sad!) little side-project novella. I knew I couldn’t do it justice in a short story, but I definitely wasn’t thinking novel at this point. Twenty thousand, or at the most, thirty thousand words was all I ever expected of it.

In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever written a book with fewer expectations all around. I wrote up a simple little plot that didn’t take more than a couple of days to come together, and I decided to shorten my chapters and move through the plot at whatever pace felt comfortable. Fifty-four-thousand words later I was astonished at the depth and the length of my “sweet little novella.”

Even more than its existence and its length, Tomorrow Isn’t Promised absolutely blew me away with its emotional power. I knew I had a cool premise and a deep question that would need to be explored with courage and honesty, but I had no idea how it was going to break me apart and put me back together again, or how deeply I was going to fall in love with the characters and their story.

It also proved to be an extremely emotional write for me—sometimes bringing tears, and sometimes just leaving me exhausted with the weight of feeling I poured into the story. But on the flipside, I found it profoundly healing. While the storyline in no way resembles my own experiences, the deep fears, struggles and grief of Nathan and Cherish allowed me to express and process my own emotions in a really powerful way.

And the feedback I’ve been receiving from early readers suggests I’m not the only one to connect with this story emotionally. If you want to hear what some of them said about Tomorrow Isn’t Promised, you can head over to Goodreads here.

Curious about the book that surprised me in so many ways? Here’s a glimpse of the storyline I’ve come to love so deeply:

Who would choose to love a girl with no promise of a “happily ever after”?

Nathan isn’t sure choice has anything to do with it. When God calls, you answer. Even when that means taking a risk that might just leave you with a broken heart.

For Cherish, the future doesn’t look so tangible. Misty dreams of deeper fulfillment swirl in her heart—and of course, the longing for someone all her own.

When a shattering diagnosis tears her world apart forever, an equally unexpected love brings questions she never thought she’d face. Is it fair to accept his offer while death looms ahead? Can faith—and love—find meaning in tragedy? And does God really care about the stories that end in ashes?

Tomorrow Isn’t Promised is a squeaky-clean heartfelt Christian romance with a twist. If you like intense emotions, characters that come alive, and a faith that sparks a new kind of heroism, then you’ll love Chelsea Burden’s poignant new slant on an age-old genre.

In celebration of its launch, Tomorrow Isn’t Promised is on sale for $0.99! This special launch-week price will be available today through Saturday (February 13-17, 2024), so be sure to take advantage of this reduced price!

I may be biased, but I think once you read it, you’ll agree that $0.99 is a bargain for the emotional and spiritual journey this book will take you on.

If you are outside the U.S.A., you can purchase it at a comparable discount from Amazon.ca or the international Amazon platform of your choice.
